Leave your heart print on this planet
If you are lucky, you will grow old and then die. And then it is over. So why spend another day wondering if you are enough?
Why spend another day beating yourself up?
Why waste any of your moments worrying what people think of you,
or proving yourself to them? They really don’t care anyway.
Someone who judges you isn’t worth your soul. The next day, they will be on to someone else.
And you gave your integrity away for nothing. Time is ticking away. Humanity needs your unique purpose and perspective. BE BOLD BE AUTHENTIC BE BEAUTIFULLY IMPERFECT RUFFLE SOME FEATHERS. LEAVE YOUR HEART PRINT ON THIS PLANET
There is still time to leave a mark
Here is a poem I wrote after watching my Father take care of my mother.
I am here for you. Even though my 87 year-old back hurts, I will lift your body from the chair to the bed and back to the chair when you are too tired or sick to do it yourself.
I am here for you.
I will bathe your body, I will cook your meals, I will push your wheelchair, I will change your clothes, I will wake up in the middle of the night to help you.
I am here for you.
I wont speak of the depth of my grief for losing the life we had and for my inability to heal you. I wont make my pain or exhaustion your problem.
I am here for you.
I will take life day by day and be blessed for the moments where we laugh at the same old stories. I will apologize for if my frustration comes out in sharp words.
I am here for you.
And through the sleepless nights, cries of pain, angry words, and hours watching you sleep, I will hold your hand and be by your bed when you wake up. I hope for the day we can fall asleep in each other’s arms and sleep in the same bed.
